CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS:

Youth-Led Societal Innovation for Resilience – Volunteer for a Better World!

‘’But, if your heart really beats in unison with that of humanity, if like a true poet you have an ear for Life, then gazing out upon this sea of sorrow whose tide sweeps up around you, face to face with these people dying of hunger – you cannot remain neutral; you will come and take the side of the oppressed because you know that the beautiful, the sublime, the spirit of life itself are on the side of those who fight for light, for humanity, for justice!’’ Peter Kropotkin

‘’You may say I’m a dreamer
But I’m not the only one
I hope some day you’ll join us
And the world will be as one’’’
John Lennon

A consortium of seven partner organisations from seven European countries is creating an exciting online training platform to promote youth involvement in sustainability initiatives. Youth-led Societal Innovation for Resilience project, an EU-funded project within the Erasmus + programme, aims at combining youth leadership and sustainability, as well as facilitation of active citizenship of young people.

Why a course and why an online course?

In the words of the great Nelson Mandela: ‘’Education is the most powerful weapon you can use to change the world!’’ With the advent of internet and the digital revolution in education, we opt for an online course – the objective is to empower as wide an

We are currently in need of:audience as possible for free, making the course easily accessible for anyone.

Why this course?

The online open-source learning platform provides an overview of how we contribute to the present global system of injustice and unbridled capitalism and aims to empower youth workers and youth with diverse tools for active citizenship and alternatives for a more ethical behaviour towards the planet and people. Take charge and act!

Among its main innovative approaches the course fosters cooperation as opposed to competition; most courses and traditional education nurture the competitive spirit and have a grading system as its cornerstone – instead we nurture cooperation and mutual aid among the students, as the quintessence of a post-growth system where people come before profits. Learning for the sake of learning, learning as the means and ends for a rich life, learning for becoming a positive change agent in a society that otherwise leads people into unethical and unconscious behaviour. In addition, the course addresses youth workers specifically and thus has a multiplier effect on youth (at least 1000 youth workers within one year of its launch!); it is a completely free and interactive online course, encouraging experiential learning, intercultural and international exchanges; intellectually stimulating and fun at the same time and it is to be translated into at least 7 different languages!

Join us in our efforts to create a socially just and sustainable society! Volunteer for a better world!
