SHORT-TERM JOINT STAFF TRAINING FOR THE PROJECT “YOUTH WORK FOR INTEGRATION”

Last week, association for progress, education and lobbying PEL Skopje hosted the short-term joint staff training for the project “Youth Work for Integration” in Skopje, North Macedonia.

The project is financed by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Commission and coordinated by Idea Europa.

During the training, the participants had the chance to learn more about the topic of migration in general, as well as to exchange knowledge, best practices, and methodologies that will help them increase the quality of youth work as a tool for improving the inclusion and the integration of migrants inside local communities.

They had the opportunity to meet a local expert on the topic of migration to get deeper into the migration situation in the Balkan region and to understand the geopolitical context between the Balkan countries and their final destinations.

Additionally, they discussed what NGOs can do to improve migrants’ integration in society and worked on new project ideas on the topic. They also reflected on suggestions for the Erasmus+ programme regarding the social inclusion of migrants in the local communities.
